Following is an update on files we have closed to date this year. Files are closed when we have reached a point where the insurer is satisfied we have achieved a successful outcome for each case.
In many cases a successful outcome will be identified as a claimant coming off benefit, however it may also include simply assisting with the effective management of the case.
It may lead the claimant to consider non business-related employment and it provides the insurer with additional information to assess the claimant’s intentions and commitment to rehabilitation. In some cases it allows the insurer to justify the discontinuation of rehabilitation services offered to a claimant in the knowledge that all possible options have been explored.
As an aside, business coaching tends to inject renewed enthusiasm and commitment to business owners and generates increased goodwill between the claimant and their insurance provider.
All ‘Good News Stories’ are from our closed files with the exception of those noted as ‘In Progress’ which are those we believe are nearing closure from a business coaching perspective.
Ms Z’s health was such she was unable to return to her usual employment. She was pursuing her own business in an industry typified by low barrier to entry and statistically very low chances of achieving her earnings and lifestyle aspirations.
Through the coaching process, we were able to glean what her skills were, what she liked doing and was capable of delivering to a point that she realised she had much higher chances of achieving her goals through other avenues. Ms Z is now pursuing employment in a field that allows her to apply her skills, manage her health and has a much higher likelihood of meeting her financial and lifestyle goals.
